Betty Jeanne Moore Our mother Betty Moore, age 87, passed away on Monday, August 12th. Betty was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, on September 13, 1925, to Ernest Epps and Melissa Daugherty. Betty is survived by her two brothers: Earle Epps of Houston, and Ernest Epps of Nederland, Texas. Her family moved to Houston in her early youth. She was especially proud of her membership in the Jeff Davis High School Carlton Cadettes drill team. She married our father Gene Moore on December 22, 1945, who preceded Betty in death on February 4, 1998. She is survived by her children and their spouses: Kathleen and Dale Cooper, Gene and Nancy Moore, and, Gregory and Bonnie Moore. Our mother had special pride in her eight grandchildren and their spouses: Gene Moore III; Christopher Moore and wife Tiffany; Melanie Alva and husband Mark; Kimberly Call and husband Scott, Kristina Cooper; Brandon Moore and wife Michelle; Zachary Moore; and Maci Moore. Her life was made more joyous by her step-grandchildren, great grandchildren and step-great grandchildren. Our mom will be missed in countless ways. By her family, her kind and loving heart was the steady place we knew was there for support during life's roughest times. At those times she would welcome us with a smile and a sweet glint in her beautiful blue eyes. She was always there for her family, reveling in our accomplishments at school and careers, and consoling us in our darkest moments of grief and loss. She always shared that no one could make her love her children any less than with all her heart - she kept true to that until the end. By her friends, she was loyal in her support and always happy to meet and share about life's happenings. Good bye sweet mama, you will be with us always.
