Our beloved Dubby, Betty Wayne Gust, slipped from our arms into the arms of her heavenly father on August 1, 2012. Betty was born February 16, 1931 in Wynne Arkansas to Charles Wayne Thacker and Emily Allen Asher.
In 1948 she met the love of her life Eugene Edward Gust while serving in the US Navy. On December 23, 1950 they were married in Houston, Texas at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. They were blessed with two sons, Thomas and Terry. Betty was a teacher for many years but her most rewarding career was wife, mother and grandmother.
Betty was preceeded in death by her beloved husband Gene, son Terry, parents and grandparents. She is survived by her son Thomas Gust and wife Gayle; daughter in law Delores Gust; grandsons Brandon Gust and wife Amanda, Mark Gust and wife Tonya, Pete Hooper and wife Amy and Joe Hooper; great grandchildren Andrew, Dyllan, Lunden, Ian, Jordan, Anneliese, Ashton, Hope and Faith.
The family will receive visitors at Forest Park Lawndale on Sunday, August 5th from 5-8 pm. Services will be at the funeral home Monday, August 6th at 11 am in the main chapel.
