Obituary

Betty Jane Fulton Firth, 87, passed away in Houston, Texas on May 19, 2021. She was born in Franklin, Texas, on July 20, 1933, to Stephen Fulton and Irene Kendrick Fulton.

Betty was preceded in death by both of her parents; her loving husband of 60 years, Joseph Earl Firth, Jr.; sisters Pauline Tulloch and Ruby Lynch; brother James Fulton; sisters Helen Schomer, Imogene Petersen, and Roberta Freeman.

She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Firth Richmond and husband George; son, Joseph Earl Firth, III and wife Susan; grandson Bret Joseph Firth and son Branden; granddaughter, Stephanie Richmond Roark, husband Ross and sons Blake and Luke; grandson Kyle Morris Firth; granddaughter Kristie Richmond Main, husband Jordan and sons Merritt and Miles; sister, Margaret Martin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Betty loved and supported her family. All were welcome at her house and her table - the more, the merrier. She was the hub of the family. Betty was proud to be a loyal member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church for over 55 years.

The family wishes to thank Good Shepherd Hospice and Elmcroft Assisted Living, specifically Angel and Janet, for their attentive care of Betty for the last several years. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77079 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, June 3, 2021, at 11:00 a.m., at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 7901 Westview Drive, Houston, Texas 77055. Interment will follow at Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
