Bessie Kathleen Johnson, 90, went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 31, 2019. Kathleen and her twin, Marceline Garner, were born on born January 17, 1929 in Village, Arkansas. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Gandy, grandson, Marcus Gandy and wife Geneva, great grandchildren, Brooks, Bennett and Blaire and stepson, G. B. Johnson, Jr. and many nieces and nephews. She graduated Wallisville High School, Arkansas 1947 and then moved to Houston with her sister and brother, Tommy. Kathleen lived and worked in The Heights for 70 years. She worked as a bookkeeper for the Houston Police Credit Union for many years, and retired from Shell Credit Union in 1981. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Houston, TX. She loved bowling and played in several different leagues, sometimes day and night leagues at the same time. She also loved to crochet, fish, read novels, play 42, and other card games. She was always competitive and loved to win.
