Benny Mac Jones Sr.

Benny was a graduate of Aldine High School. He met LaVerne Goff in Houston and they married on September 28, 1962. Benny had a career in HVAC at Har-Con Corp for 40 years as a member of Pipefitters Local 211. He was a member of Melrose Masonic Lodge #1294 and had a passion for fishing, boating and golf, but his favorite pastime was spending time with his family. He was a Past Master of Melrose Lodge and a member of Arabia Shrine Temple where he served as Chairman of DeMolay for a number of years. Benny served as Chapter Advisor of R.L. Wilbourn DeMolay and was known by many as Dad Jones.

Benny is preceded in death by his wife, LaVerne Jones; parents, Arah and LeBaron Jones and brother, WM Edward Jones, Sr.

He is survived by sons, Benny Jones, Jr. and wife Judy; Bryan Jones; daughter, Verna Lamb and husband Chris; grandchildren, Hannah and Megan Jones, Michael Lamb, his fiancé, Avery Lunkwitz and Christian Lamb; brother, Dewey Jones and wife Daisy as well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends and his "adopted” DeMolay and Rainbow children.

Anyone wishing to honor Benny may donate to the charity of their choice.

Serving as pallbearers are Hannah Jones, Christian Lamb, Michael Lamb, Chris Lamb, Steve Hankins and Ben Hankins.

A visitation for Benny will be held Tuesday, February 13, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at 10:00 AM in the Grand Chapel at Brookside with burial to follow at Brookside Memorial Park.
