Benjamin Franklin Secor Jr. passed away November 7, 2014. Frank lived in Spring, Texas for the last 7 ½ years, but was a native Houstonian. Frank passed away in the comfort of his own home, with his family, due to complications from pneumonia. He had been ill with diabetes, chronic lymphocytic leukemia, congestive heart failure, and lung issues. Frank will be missed deeply by his wife, family, and friends.
Frank was born December 13, 1938, to proud parents Benjamin Franklin Secor (deceased), and Sarah Emma Cartee Secor (deceased). Frank is survived by one younger sister, Virginia Faye Secor Shabaik, her husband, Aly H. Shabaik, their daughters, Nadia Amera Shabaik Sager, her husband, Greg Sager, their two sons, Ethan, and Owen Sager; and Safi Alia Shabaik. Frank is predeceased by his two older, half sisters Katherine Secor Glass, and Lyndora Secor Raines.
Frank is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Judy Evelyn Miller Nelson Secor; Frank's step son William (Bill) Keith Nelson, his children, Dakoda Alexandra Nelson Mazzii, her husband Travis Mazzii; and William (Liam) Peter Nelson; Frank's daughter Deidre (DeeDee) Elaine Secor Hardcastle Kelley, her husband Barré Lynn Kelley Jr., their sons Philip Gabriel Hardcastle, his son Christian Damion Hardcastle; Christopher Samuel Hardcastle, his wife Christina Louise Miksch Hardcastle; Nathaniel Stephen Haynes; Zachary Lynn Kelley; and Joshua Aden Kelley.
Frank was a teacher of electronics for over 30 years. During those years he touched many lives and made many friends. Frank was also very active in his church, teaching Royal Ambassadors and serving with the Texas Baptist Men. Frank loved getting to share his testimony with anyone who would listen. He loved Jesus and he loved people.
The Viewing and Memorial Service celebrating Frank's life will be held at Brookside Funeral Home - Cypress Creek, 9149 Highway 6 North, Houston, Texas, 77095. The Viewing is Thursday, November 13, 2014 from 6 to 8 P.M. The Memorial Service is Friday, November 14, 2014 at 10 A.M. Frank will be buried at Washington Cemetery, 2525 Washington Ave., Houston, Texas, 77007, Friday, November 14, 2014 at 2 P.M.
Pallbearers for Frank include Bill Nelson, Barré Kelley, Philip Hardcastle, Christopher Hardcastle, Nathaniel Haynes, and Zachary Kelley.
