Mrs. Rose!  Your role in my life as teacher and harpist has been meaningful and significant:  a lifelong insiration.  We stayed in touch until the last several years when life brought me some difficult challenges.  I’m finally getting a pedal harp:  how I wish I could have told you.  Dear Teacher always encouraged me - you knew the busy-ness of medicine had no claim to distract me from that instrument you taught me to play with your excellent patience and focused instruction.  Bill and you were a precious couple - dedicated to teaching music and thereby encouraging life.  May your son and extended family be blessed with fond memories.  Thank you for sharing your excellent mother and relative with me.  Blessings!!

Mrs. Rose, you and Mr. Rose made a huge difference in my life, musically and personally.  I'm so grateful I was able to study with you for so long, and to know you.  You helped introduce me to aesthetic beauty, and to the possibilities of a life devoted to it and to friendship.  The world was very lucky to have you.  Much love.

I cannot find words to express what a huge impact Bea (and Bill) Rose had upon my life. I will be forever grateful for the kindness, the patience, the selfless sharing of everything she had to give to me-first as an inexperienced, scared, and naive college freshman-and continuing on through the next 40 years. My teacher, then my colleague, and always my friend! You are honored always in our memories and in our hearts!

My Aunt Bea was a lovely and talented musician and I was always so proud to describe her to my friends as the principal harpist of the Houston Symphony Orchestra!   She was a best friend/sister to my mother, Aura, which I was witness to throughout my life.  It was a privilege to know her.

Aunt Bea - You were my very favorite. I loved visiting with you in Philadelphia while you here here for the American Harp Association Conference. I loved our Sunday afternoon phone calls. And I will never forget how you supported me through my breast cancer challenge. I am glad you are with Bill now. God Bless you and keep you.

Mrs. Rose, I was fortunate enough to have you as a teacher for just a short time but the lessons you taught me and the musicality you were able to pull out of me was grand. I especially remember and admire your grace and strength behind a harp and beside a student.  Your legacy will live on in every harpist you encountered and every ear that heard you play.

Dear Bea, you were an inspiration to so many young harpists in Houston and such a delightful addition to the Houston Symphony for so many years. Your amazing legacy lives on in the lives and music of your many students and admirers! Rest in peace, dear one!

I was so happy to have had a chance to converse with Mrs. Rose a couple of years ago. I told her that she was still remembered and esteemed by many I had met at my public performances. She responded to me with a wit and understanding that I will always cherish.

Dear Bea, 
How to say how your life has touched mine... well, I suppose there are a thousand of us with the same stories.  How you took a scared little freshman harp student (who was more than a bit petrified of you) and turned her into a musician.  Sometimes you dragged me kicking and screaming, and sometimes I think that I dragged you, but I am better today because you were a part of my life. You are a part of us every time that we practice, every time that we teach, and every time that we perform. I hope that we can live up to the legacy that you have left to us! You and Bill will remain forever branded into my heart and my life with love.

Aunt Bea,
I've missed you all these years since Uncle Bill passed away.  You were always kind and loving to me and to my siblings.  I know you had a happy reunion with Uncle Bill, and I'm very happy for that!  Thank you for the fun visit Andy and I had with you both in the summer of 1994.  Thank you for your love and inspiration and for your beautiful music!
