Beatrice Mae Andrews

Bea was born in Chita, Texas on May 24, 1930 to Annie Bell and Naudy Anderson. She graduated from Trinity High School in Trinity, Texas in 1947 and came to Houston that same year to live with her sister Margaret and her husband Hilmer Mertz. In 1949, she met Charles Andrews and they were married the following year in Corinth, MS. In 1952 she welcomed the first of her two sons Sidney and in 1963 she welcomed Craig into the family. This was the start of her family which she would cherish until the day she died.

Bea worked as a secretary for various principals in H.I.S.D. for over 35 years. During this journey she met many wonderful people who would be good friends during her career. Mom’s greatest accomplishment was her family; sons, daughter in-laws, grand kids, and great grand kids. Mom loved being with her grand kid’s and spent many days watching them in their sporting and school events. Her whole existence revolved around her family. Along the way through life mom made sure our needs were met as well as our families. Mom had high expectations from her sons but she loved us and that was abundantly clear throughout her life.

Bea was preceded in death by husband Charles Andrews of 67 years, her parents, Naudy and Annie Bell Anderson of Houston, TX; and siblings, Margaret Mertz of Willis, TX, Wilton Anderson of New Waverly, TX, Clifford Anderson of Houston, TX, Charlie Anderson of Houston, TX and Ross Anderson of Houston, TX. is survived by son Sidney Andrews and wife Andrea of Spring, TX and their children Zachary Andrews and wife Sara, Nicholas Andrews and wife Sandra, Sarah Gongora and husband Mark, Lauren Fincher and husband Matt; son Craig Andrews and wife Susannah and their children Claire and Cole of Cypress, TX; along with seven great grandkids.
