Barbara graduated from The University of Texas in Austin in 1976 with a degree in Elementary Education. She received her Master's of Religious Education in 1982 from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth. She served twenty-six years with the International Mission Board (IMB) of the Southern Baptist Convention, twenty-three of which were in Ecuador.
Barbara was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Karl Rivers. She is survived by her two sisters, Carolyn Rivers of Houston, and Linda Attaway (Dave) of Austin. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Amanda Rivers, Charles Rivers, Michael Attaway, and Kimberley Attaway, as well as other extended family and friends.
A service will be held Saturday, February 11, at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Round Rock, 306 Round Rock Avenue, Round Rock, TX 78664. Burial will be private.
The family wishes to thank The Cottages at Chandler Creek, Heart to Heart Hospice, and Resolutions Hospice for their compassionate care.
