Barbara B. Norris

Barbara was born in Baytown, TX on October 2, 1939 to parents Walter Harrington and Dorothy Ruth (Hefner) Boucher, they preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her brother Robert Eugene Boucher, her son John Tracy Hammon and her daughter-in-law Lesa Jane Hammon.

Barbara married John Michael Hammon in Baytown in July of 1958. In November of 1973 Barbara married William Monroe Norris and moved to Houston. They have both preceded her in death.

She is survived by her son Kevin Hammon & his wife Debbie, her daughter Sheryl Hammon Howell and her grandchildren, Elanda Marie Hammon, Kayla Rebecca Hammon York, Brandy Michelle Stump, Dana Hammon and Larry Howell. Barbara is also survived by her sister Helen Emfinger Gerlich, nieces Laura Estes, Susan Scott, her nephew David Boucher, seventeen great-grandchildren and sister in law Gwen Boucher.

Barbara graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1958 and worked for Houston Community College for over twenty years. Prior to her career at Houston Community College she worked for Citizens Savings and Loan and Lee College in Baytown.

She played the piano, the clarinet and enjoyed bowling. In her younger years she loved working in her garden.

A visitation for Barbara will be held on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Rd., Houston. Funeral services will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at the funeral home followed by a committal service at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery.
