Barbara J. Melton

Barbara Jean Melton, 88, of Trinity, Texas, entered eternal rest on March 28, 2022. She was born in Norfolk, VA on February 2, 1934 to Sedrick Dayton & Minnie Evelyn Harrison. Barbara attended Sam Houston High School. She met Gail Melton in Houston, TX and later married on September 22, 1950. Early on, Barbara was an elevator operator at the Gulf Building in Downtown Houston. Most of her life was spent as a devoted wife, as well as a loving and caring mother. It was all about family!

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents: Sedrick & Minnie Harrison. Left to cherish her loving memory, husband: Gail Connard Melton, Jr., children: Connie Fisher, Rhonda Malley & husband Lonnie, Connard Melton & wife Sandy; sister: Shirley Harrison Johnson; 9 grandchildren, 15 fifteen great grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of close friends.

Barbara was loved and admired by everyone she met and spoke to. It is no secret that her smile, giggle, and hugs captured the hearts of everyone’s life she touched. A godly and faithful child of God.

Visitation for family and friends will begin on Monday, April 4, 2022 at 1:30pm with the funeral service to begin promptly at 2:30pm. Interment to follow in Brookside Memorial Park following the funeral service.
