Barbara Josephine McLemore

On December 8, 2013 the angels celebrated the arrival of Barbara J. McLeMore with her face towards the heavens and a radiant glow, she peacefully placed her hand in the Master's and quietly he ushered her to her new home. She was born on March 17, 1944 in Alton, Illinois to Andrew and Esther Johnson. Barbara was educated in the Alton Public School System and she graduated from Alton High School. Barbara married Robert Pierson and from this union there were five children, Kenneth, Andrea, Michael, Robin and Patrice Pierson. Barbara remarried later to Ollie McLemore and from this union there was one child ShaWanda McLemore. Barbara was employed at The Alton Telegraph until she retired and moved to Houston, Texas. Barbara joined The New Beginning Church to continue her roots in the church. She also did what she loved the most, volunteer work. On a daily basis she would volunteer at the Johnson & Johnson Adult Daycare, where she loved doing her arts and crafts. Barbara was preceded in death by her father Andrew Johnson, Sr., Her mother Esther Crumpton, her daughter Robin Pierson, and her son Kenneth Pierson. She leaves to celebrate her home going her brother Andrew (Demonica) Johnson, Houston, Sisters, Ruby Means, Jeanetta (Kenneth) Grandberry, Jackie Clemons, and Venisa(Gregory) Hearn, Her children Andrea Pierson, Michael Pierson, Patrice (John) Kasky, and ShaWanda McLemore, 20 grand-children and 9 great grand-children and a host of family and friends. Barbara's warm and caring heart and beautiful spirit has touched so many lives.
