She was born to the late Delpha Marks, Sr. and Lucille Strauss, September 3, 1948 in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana. At an early age her family moved to Houston, Texas where she graduated from Wheatley High School.
Barbara or “Peg”, as she is known to her family, enjoyed a successful career in the legal profession for years before starting her own business providing legal services. She was the most compassionate, forgiving woman who would do anything for those in need. Mom was a devout Christian, loving mother, and kind spirit who touched everyone she met. She will always be remembered for her strength, perseverance, and candor. There are no words to describe the passion she had for the Lord and the love she had for her three girls. She will forever be missed by her children and grandchildren knowing she had an intimate and personal relationship with all of us. She will continue to be our champion in Heaven as she has been on earth.
Her legacy will continue to live on through her daughters Angela, Kimberly and Christina Marks (David Chandler); grandchildren Charles, Joshua, Daizha, Grace, C.J., and Philip Jr.; great grandson, London and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
She is survived by siblings Joseph Marks, Mary Davidson, Consetta Castex, Delpha Marks, Jr. and predeceased by siblings Nelson Marks, Horace Marks, and Freda J. Cross.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting only that you keep them in your prayers.
On Saturday, March 1, 2014 a viewing will be held from 9am-11am. The funeral service will begin at 11am with the burial immediately after. All services are being held at Brookside Memorial Funeral Home.
In the words of our beloved Mother “GOD BLESS YOU”.
