Barbara Elaine Kaase

She was a native Houstonian and born at St. Joseph’s Hospital on October 20, 1939 to Harold and Vivian Elaine Telschow. Barbara grew up in the West University area of Houston, attended Trinity Lutheran School downtown, and graduated from Bellaire High School in 1957.

She had a career in the Travel industry later in her life, but spent most of her years at home raising her children.

She was a member of the Grocery Supply Ladies Auxiliary throughout her married life where she made many friends and enjoyed numerous travel experiences. Barbara had a passion for family and holiday gatherings. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and traveling.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Donald Telschow, her sister Vivian Telschow Smith, her former husband James Pate, and her husband of 30 years Fred Kaase. She is survived by her three children: Michael Pate and wife Laura Wilmot Pate, Sheri Smith Ratcliff and husband Jerry Ratcliff, Craig Pate; three grandchildren Steven Pate and wife Carla Hulsey Pate, Julie Pate, Savannah Smith Lee and husband Kenneth Lee; two great grandchildren Eva Pate and Addison Lee; brother-in-law Joe Smith.

Visitation will be held at 10:00am, October 15, 2021 and the funeral will follow at 10:30am, at Kinsmen Lutheran Church located at 12100 Champions Forest Drive, Houston, Texas 77066. Graveside services will be held at Forest Park Lawndale located at 6900 Lawndale St, Houston, Texas 77023 beginning at 1:00pm.
