Barbara "Bobbi" Girdwood (Silvio) graced the world with her presence on August 25, 1952, in Macon, Georgia. She was born to the union of James Frank Joseph Silvio and Mary Marie Silvio (Hill). Bobbi completed her education at Bossier High School in 1970 and embarked on a life characterized by leadership and management roles that extended far beyond her family's circle.
August 3, 2023, Bobbi was embraced in the afterlife by those who preceded her—her parents, James and Mary Silvio, brother Jerry Frazier, son Darrell Combs, Jr., and loyal fur baby Candy. While we yearn for her continued presence, we can envision the beautiful reunion that unfolded, with the promise of our glorious reunion one day.
Bobbi's legacy endures through the hearts of her family and friends, each cherishing their unique connection with her. She was a nurturing mother to Michelle Dorsey, Shane, and Kendal Combs, a devoted gran to April Easterday, Chelsea Dorsey, Katie Adams, and Jasmine Combs, and an adored Gigi to Jagger Easterday, Lilly Adams, Danika Easterday, Julian Pizana V, and Evelyn Adams. Bobbi was the oldest sister to Kathy Leone, Melody Silvio, Annette Mapes, and Jimmy Silvio. Bobbi's partnership with Greg Girdwood extended her family with stepsons David and Blake Girdwood and Granddaughter Bailey Girdwood. She had deep friendships with Tina Crockett and Joni LeMay and her new steadfast fur companion, Mittsy, who her family will adore and spoil daily in the years to come.
Her most recent chapter unfolded at Stripes, where she spent more than a decade and crossed paths with her beloved husband, Greg Girdwood. They united their lives on May 23, 2016, surrounded by cherished friends and family. Bobbi's dynamic spirit was also evident in her passion for family time, dance, and the great outdoors. Her adventurous spirit led her and Greg to invest in a Tiny House RV, a vehicle for creating cherished family memories on grand excursions to Lake Mathis. She delighted in giving rides to the little ones on her red golf cart, and her travel explorations imbued her life with rich experiences.
Despite the unrealized dreams she held for her Tiny House, it transformed into her sanctuary—a haven that kept her close to her loved ones and provided a comforting space during her battle with cancer under the care of an exceptional medical team. The Cabana and poolside became venues for treasured shared moments, where music, laughter, and morning coffee blended into a symphony of precious memories. The warmth of surprise visits from great-grandbabies at her workplace illuminated her days, embodying her passions and priorities.
The profound absence of Bobbi's physical presence defies words, yet the love she sowed remains undiminished. As we strive to leave our mark on the world, Bobbi's legacy—crafted from abundant unconditional love—stands as a testament. Hers was a love that transcended conditions and thrived in the simplest moments. Whether basking in the glow of shared television shows or reveling in spontaneous crawfish feasts, Bobbi exemplified the beauty of togetherness. Her strength and perseverance in the face of cancer illuminated her unwavering tenacity, a beacon to guide us through life's challenges. She always proclaimed she was the lucky one, even in her worst moments, as she watched others battle cancer alone.
Unique and irreplaceable, Bobbi cast a luminous light that colored the world around her. Her radiance was never more evident than when it dimmed, leaving a void that her memory fills with each sunrise. Her presence will forever remain in the quiet corners of life, in monumental milestones and the echoes of our hearts. Bobbi's enduring love journeys with us as an eternal reminder of the depth of her impact. Until we reunite, we love you to the moon and back and hold you in our hearts, dear Bobbi, Gran, G Dawg, Meine Oma, Gigi, Mom, Wife, and Friend.
