Arthur Ray McDaniel

Arthur Ray McDaniel, 87, of Splendora, Texas, entered eternal rest on August 28, 2024. He was born August 10, 1937, in Texarkana, Texas to Luther Milbred & Mary Ethel McDaniel. Arthur graduated from Jefferson Davis Senior High School where he received his high school diploma. He attended the University of Houston for 3- ½ years prior to entering the United States Marine Corp. He met Dona Kathleen Jones in Houston, Texas and were married on September 4, 1959. Arthur had a career in the United States Marine Corp for 23- 1/2 years.

Arthur served in his church faithfully and loved spending time with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. He enjoyed bowling, coaching youth sports, Umpiring Youth Baseball/Softball. Watching golf, baseball, football, basketball, playing solitaire on his computer while keeping his stats and enjoying a bowl of Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream with Strawberries on top – every night.

He is preceded in death by his wife: Dona Kathleen Jones McDaniel; oldest daughter: Karyn Sue Osborne; father: Luther Milbred McDaniel; mother: Mary Ethel Irwin McDaniel; his 10 siblings: James Edward McDaniel, Henry Napoleon McDaniel, William Luther McDaniel, Harry Irwin McDaniel, Alvin Leroy McDaniel, Gladys Marie Duncan, Lula Angeline Rutledge, Doris Juanita Freeze, Patricia Ann Duncan, Shirley Jean Ham.

Left to cherish his loving memory, son: Arthur Ray McDaniel, Jr. & wife Carrie Renee; daughter: Deborah Jean Cotie & husband Terry David; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren. Along with many loving nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers: Matthew Rauch, Eric Chacon, Thomas Toole, Christopher Camp, Devin Clemons, Michael Osborne. Honorary pallbearers: Matthew McDaniel, Christopher McDaniel, James Citty, Avery Toole, Gavin Toole, Noah Chacon, Hayden Crowder, Collin Bates, Keegan Bates.
