He is predeceased by his sons, Henry Garza and Raymond Garza; parents, Abel Garza and Guadalupe Rodriguez Gonzales; brothers, Joe Alfred Garza and Abel Garza Jr.; sister, Sylvia Garza Ramirez.
He is survived by his former wife, Carmen Garza; children, Mary Ann Carrion (John), Theresa Garza, Mary Helen Castro (Gilbert), Armando Garza Jr., Elizabeth Dunlap (Michael), Rosanne Garza, Michael Garza (Becky), David Garza (Christina), Marc Garza (Susan) and Virginia Garza; 33 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren; sisters, Consuelo Soliz, Virginia Morales, Guadalupe Garza, Anita Garza, Rosa Garza, and Oralia Garza; brothers, Mario Garza, Robert Garza and Santiago Gonzales.
He was a welder by trade, in his past time he enjoyed playing golf, bowling and playing slot machines.
He will be greatly missed by those who were fortunate enough to know him.
A visitation for Armando will be held Sunday, September 15, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. A Rosary will be recited this evening at 6:00 PM.
A Funeral Service will occur Monday, September 16, 2024 at 10:30 AM at St. Leo The Great Catholic Church, 2131 Lauder Road, Houston, Texas 77039 followed by the Committal Service at Brookside Memorial Park.
Serving as pallbearers are Marc Garza, David Garza, Armando Garza Jr., Adrian Garcia, Jose Luis Garcia, and John Carrion. Serving as an honorary pallbearer is Gilbert Castro.
