Arline C. Montz

Arline Coughlin Montz passed away peacefully on May 27, 2010 at the age of 82. She was preceded in death by her beloved siblings, Catherine Coughlin in 1996, Warren Coughlin in 2008 and her nephew Mark Coughlin in 1994. She is survived by her 6 children, Greg (Elena) Montz, Michele DeCuir, Catherine Montz, Drew Montz, Lisa McDermott, and Lee (Gina) Montz; 8 grandchildren, Bryan (Katie) Montz, Daniel Montz, Jeremiah and Josh DeCuir, Shannon and Sean McDermott, McCall Montz and Tori Montz; and one great grandchild, Emmett James Montz. Arline is also survived by sister-in-law, Alice Mach Coughlin and her niece, Cyndi (Kent) Schmidt, both of Jacksonville, Florida: her in-laws, James (Ann) Montz, Mary Lee (Doug) Francis of Marble Falls, Texas, Chell Ann (Damian) Golla of Seguin, Texas, and Rodney (Barbara) Montz of Houston and numerous nieces and nephews.

Arline was born in Detroit, Michigan to Mary Dorris Warren and Royal Aloysius Coughlin. She attended Immaculada Academy, the University of Detroit, and the University of Houston. She moved to Houston in 1951 and married Elmo Montz (deceased 1989), raised her 6 children, enjoyed a career as an Insurance Rater and retired from Hartford Insurance in 1994. She accomplished her dream of owning a beautiful new home in 1996. She was a resident of Treemont for 5 years. She was proudest of the fact that all of her children graduated from college. She was a Devout Catholic. Her greatest joy was cooking for and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Rosary Wednesday, June 2, 2010 in the Chapel of Memorial Oaks. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 3, 2010 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 11720 Joan of Arc Dr., Houston, TX. Interment will follow at Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
