Arcade Joseph COMEAUX, Sr.

On Thursday, April 30, 1936, Arcade Joseph Comeaux was born to the late Octavia and Celina Comeaux in Grand Coteau, Louisiana. He moved to Houston at the age of 14 becoming a man with the wisdom bestowed upon him by his parents. At the age of 31, he met and married his love, his soulmate, Joyce Lynn Calligan. Arcade was a member of Our Mother Mercy Catholic Church and Joyce was a Jehovah’s Witness. Arcade and Joyce Comeaux’s union of 47 beautiful years showed the truth of what Prayer, Faith, Love, Courage, and Strength can do for a marriage and family.

Arcade was a hardworking man driving his city trash truck he took pride in his job. He loved to get in the kitchen and cook with Lynn, you would smell their cooking from the street. He enjoyed working in his yard, he made you think a professional landscaper was on payroll with him. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. He conversated you with great advice and he was a jack of all trades. We had a saying everyone knew, “If you need something fixed, “Just ask Uncle Fatty.” There was no job too big or too small because he would always come up with the solution to your problem, can’t was not in his vocabulary.

Arcade was preceded in death by his wife Joyce Lynn Comeaux and leaves to cherish his memory thirteen children, Lovely Keith (Joseph), Arcade Comeaux III (Matrise), Salena Haskett (Alonzo), Leana Alfred, Lisa Clark, Adam Comeaux, Mark Comeaux, Sharin Byrd (James), Austin Mayes Jr. (Christine), Angela Comeaux, P. Joseph Comeaux, Arcade Comeaux Jr. (deceased), and Paul Comeaux(deceased).

Paw Paw, a magnificent man also leaves to mourn his grandchildren LaZ’Joyus, LaJoesia, Joseph Jr., LaRancia, Shaquerria, Emerald, Arcade IV, Alexis, Jacadin, Shawn, Michelle, Felicia, Paul, Camy, Angela, Fred Jr, Joey, Kingston, James Jr, Johnathan, Queara, Quinton, Victoria, A’stina, Austin III, Kaitlyn, LaKeshia, and Tevin.

Arcade also leaves to mourn his two sisters Mary Comeaux and Vergie Comeaux Lewis. He was preceded in death by his brothers Oscar, Octavia, Robert, and John Comeaux, and sisters Shirley and Larcy Comeaux.
