In Loving Memory of Antonio ‘Tony’ A. Orta. After a valiant 2-year battle with cancer, Tony, 68, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Sunday, August 25, 2013. Tony was born on August 14, 1945, in Kingsville, Texas. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Bernardo Arredondo; parents, Antonio and Eva Orta; and, his son, Antonio (Tony-O) Orta, III. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Dolores; his daughters, Diana and Tracy and their husbands, Frank and Ron; his grandson Jay and wife Alla, and granddaughter, Desiree. He is also survived by his loving brothers and sister: Gonzalo and Rachel, Janie, Ruben and Alma, Guadalupe and Mary Hilda, Raul and Norma, Alonzo and Maribel, and Homero and Sylvia, Steve and Lisa, along with his many nieces and nephews. Tony was a life-long member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 716 and worked for many years as a Master Electrician. He served on the City of Houston Electrical Board and retired in 2012 as an Electrical Inspector for the Port of Houston. Tony was a loving husband and father, the strength of his family, and an inspiration to us all. He was also a gifted musician.
