He is preceded in death by his parents Antonio Hernandez Sr., Paula Martinez Hernandez; sisters Manuella Castillo and Juanita Cortez, and grandson Antonio Hernandez IV. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years Rebecca Hernandez; his children, Celina Marie Hernandez, Antonio Hernandez III and wife Tanya, and Rene Hernandez and wife Susan. He is survived by his grandchildren; Ashley Desiree Del Bosque and husband Edwin, Brittany Marie Hernandez, Emily Ann Hernandez, Sarah Reese Hernandez, and Thomas Vicente Hernandez. He is survived by his brother and sisters; Julia Hernandez, Mary Nanez and husband Arthur, Dora Flores and husband Erasmo, and Reynaldo Hernandez and wife Linda.
Born and raised in the heart of Magnolia, Antonio graduated from Milby High School in 1970. He instilled the importance of spending quality time with his family; he never missed a ROTC competition, baseball game, soccer game, or concert for any of his children or grandchildren. He retired in 2013 at the age of 62 and enjoyed it by continuing to travel and dedicate time to his loved ones. A devoted family man, he always put his family first. He taught his children and grandchildren the significance of what is truly important in life – relationships. He valued his family over all material items and taught them to love God.
A worthy role model for all to emulate, he set the standard for a great Christian, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. A hero in our hearts, the legacy he leaves behind is unwavering, his lessons engrained, and his love everlasting.
