Antonio was born to Jose and Hilaria Cervantes, January 17, 1941, in Houston, Texas. He married Nellie Montelongo in 1957, and they lived together in Houston. Together they raised 10 children.
Antonio B. Cervantes is survived by: Nellie Cervantes, Janie Lopez, Lydia Martinez, Nancy Garcia, Pedro Cervantes, Teresa Rivera and Antonio Cervantes Jr. He also leaves to cherish his memory, 7 siblings, 30 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his children, Rosemary Martinez, Dora Castro, Ralph Cervantes and Gloria Cabrera, and granddaughter, Jessica Palomo.
Antonio worked as a heavy equipment operator for The City of Houston for 27 years. He enjoyed spending endless hours in his yard planting many types of citrus trees. He was also actively involved in raising not only his children but grandchildren.
A Visitation is scheduled for November 1st from 5pm – 8pm at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home. Followed by a chapel service on November 2nd at 10am with a 9am viewing, and 11am Burial.
Jose U. Martinez will officiate the ceremony.
