Antonia Leal

Antonia lost her parents at the age of 10. Eventually, she and her 3 siblings were brought to Laredo to be raised by her loving aunt, Tia Otila Lopez. Having been orphaned so early in life, Antonia learned the importance of family. She dedicated her life to raising her 7 children in good times and bad. Many Saturdays, she would load up her kids and grandkids in her big station wagon, and take them to the beach or to her favorite thrift store “Salvation Army”, which she called “Foley’s number two”. Antonia was a graceful and beautiful lady inside and out, and will forever be missed.

Antonia is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Jose Trevino; her second husband, Pilar Leal; her brothers, Luis and Lupe Rodriguez. She is survived by her sister, Estella Gonzales; Sister in Law, Alicia Rodriguez; Children Hilda Leffew and her husband Walter, Rosalinda Acosta and her husband Armando, Joe Trevino and his wife Mary, Mary Jane Leal, Sandra Leal, Norma Leal, and Gilbert Leal and is wife Amy.

Antonia is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 8 great great grandchildren; other survivors include nieces, Patsy, Cindy, Leticia, Veronica, Lizzie, and Francis; nephews, Freddy and Luis Jr. Antonia’s children would like to thank all family and friends of Antonia for their prayers and support.

A visitation for Antonia will be held Wednesday, June 6, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home. A funeral service will occur Thursday, June 7, 2018 at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery. The Family would also like to invite everyone for a reception in the Holland Hall at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home following the Interment.
