Tony was born October 5, 1932, in Houston, Texas to Gabriel and Celinda Galindo. He was the oldest of four boys, (David, Jimmy and Richard) who all preceded him in death. He graduated from Jeff Davis High School and shortly after was drafted into the Army to serve his county in the Korean War. He entered military service as a Private 1st Class and was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergent. He was assigned to the 5th Infantry Division, 92nd Armored Field Artillery, Able Battery, nicknamed the Red Devils. After the war he was moved to the Army Reserve under Battalion B, 31st Field Artillery. He was awarded the Korean Service Medal, the UN Service Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal.
After receiving his honorary discharge from the Army, Tony began attending the University of Houston in the Massey Business College and studied General Business Accounting. He married Virgina Catherine Rojas in 1967 and had two children, Jaime and Alisha. He worked at Southern Pacific Railroad and had a 35-year career there. After retirement, Tony served as Executive Secretary for The Transportation Club of Houston for many years.
Tony was an avid photographer, taking pictures and videos whenever he had the chance. He loved good conversation over a meal with a Mexican beer. Most of all, he cherished the time he got to spend with his children and grandchildren.
