Anson Luong

Anson Luong died naturally in his home on Brighton Lane, Meadows Place, Texas on September 24, 2023, surrounded by his 9 children, 10 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren at the perfect age of 95. He was born to Luong Kai Hing and Wong Dong Kui on February 26, 1928, in Hai Phong Vietnam. He was married to his sweetheart Jenn for over 72 years.

Dad is the first generation to come to America in January of 1981. He worked on watches when he first came to America. He later worked in a radiator shop in Syracuse New York until his retirement in 1994, in which he moved the rest of his family down to Houston, Texas. He was very proud of his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was a generous, loving, encouraging and compassionate father, brother, grandfather.

His 10 kids of the 2nd generation with youngest 3 finishing college and 1 having served in the Army of our great nation. Anson was very proud to be in America. He has 18 grandchildren in the 3rd generation and 6 great grand kids in the 4th generation.

Including his parents, Anson was predeceased by one older brother in Virginia, one older sister in Atlanta, one younger brother in Australia, his loving wife Jenn, and his 2nd oldest son Hung in Vietnam at the young age of 6.

He is survived by his oldest daughter Selina Su & husband Tony, grandchildren William and Lisa; his 2nd daughter Helen Vien, grandson Gee-Kren and great grandson Kai, and granddaughter Aleta Vien & husband Seth, and great grandchildren Aaron and Samantha Daughenbaugh; 3rd daughter Ahn Luong & husband Chi Quyen Luu with grandkids Eliza de La Cruz, husband Steve, and 3 great grandkids Kingsley, Alexander & Christina, along with grandchildren Cynthia, Jason, and Eric Luu with wife Shirly; oldest son Sam Luong & wife Mandy, with 2 grandsons Danny & Kevin; 5th child Henry Luong & wife Judy, with 2 grandchildren Alex & Madeline; 6th child Frances Luong & husband Orlando, with 2 grandchildren Anthony & Emily Ontiveros; 7th child Danica Teng & husband Daniel; 8th child Simon Luong & wife Tamiko, with 2 granddaughters Moriah & Kailah; and finally the baby of the family Anjelica Garza & husband Carlos with grandsons Damacio & Logan.

A service of remembrance will be held at the Chapel of Eternal Peace, 2454 S Dairy Ashford Rd, Houston, TX 77077. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 30 from 9-1 pm 3-6 pm with service at 5pm.

Funeral services will be on October 1, 2023, from 9-11 AM.
