Ruth attended H.I.S.D. and graduated from Booker T. Washington Senior High School in 1953. During that summer she gave birth to her first child, Lonnie Foley Sr. (deceased). 1954 Ruth was united in marriage to James Wiley Sr. (deceased) and from this union they had 4 children, Deborah Wiley (deceased), Janice McCloud, James L. Wiley Jr., and John Wiley. She later had two other children, Paula R. Thymes (deceased), and Rosalyn Thymes.
Ruth was employed and retired after 43 years of service as a maiden/nanny, but as she would call it a Household Technician (like Florence from the TV show The Jefferson’s) to the Anderson Family. Ruth was a wonderful, loving mother and grandmother putting her family’s happiness 1st at all times. Her vibrant, fun loving, caring, but no-nonsense type of demeanor made her cherished by many. She loved to celebrate, dance and enjoy her family and friends.
Ruth was proceeded in death by her father Adolph Foley Sr., mother Hattie Marie McGarthy, her son Lonnie Foley Sr., and daughters Paula R. Thymes, and Deborah Wiley.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory: Janice McCloud, James L. Wiley Jr., John Wiley, and Rosalyn Thymes. Grandchildren Sedrick (Deirdre), Torsia, Toyia (Badru), Lonnie Jr., Jasmine, and Desiree. Sisters Rosie Neal and Bobbie Tillis, 10 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren and a host of aunts’, cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family.
