A.Christine Gregory, 94, of Humble, Texas passed into eternal rest on March 25, 2021. She was born in Decatur, Texas on January 8, 1927. Christine graduated from North Harris County Junior College with an Associate’s Degree. Early life was spent farming cotton and cornfields and going to church. She was married at 15 and became a WWII widow at 21 with two small children that she raised by herself for 10 years. William Floyd Gregory became her husband on May 16, 1987. Christine had a career in accounting, working for Norton Lilly Steamship Lines.
Gospel Assembly Church was her church home. She was a musician with the Gospel Assembly Church Band, playing the tenor sax. Christine also played the piano for personal joy. She traveled with her late husband across the United States, pulling a fifth wheel.
Christine is preceded in death by husband Alton Nolan Tage, second husband Joe Corbello, third husband Floyd Gregory, grandson Christopher Barr, great-great-granddaughter Azalia Renee Barr and nine brothers and sisters. Left to cherish her memory are daughter Phyllis Barr, son Cecil Tage, grandchildren: Lisa Swain, Christina Stewart and Brent, Bradley Tage and Tiffany, David Barr II and Kathy, great-grandchildren: Gavin, Brenden, Indigo, Tyler, Jaden, Bryson, A.J., Chelsea, great-great-grandchildren: Coby, Caiden, Aniayah, Parker, Vanessa and sister Esta Gregory.
Family and friends will gather for services at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. The visitation will be Thursday, April 1, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The funeral service is next day, Friday, April 2, 2021 at 2:00 p.m.
