Anne Shank, age 87, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 24, 2025. Anne was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Shank, whom she met and married in England while he was serving in the U.S. Air Force. They enjoyed a long and happy marriage of 57 years.
During their time together, Anne, John, and their two sons were stationed in various places around the U.S. Anne had fond memories of their time with the Air Force, and she kept in touch with many friends they met along the way. After John retired from the Air Force, the family settled in Houston. Anne enjoyed working at James Avery Craftsman Jewelry, where she devoted herself to over 20 years of service.
Anne was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose kindness and warmth touched everyone who knew her. She is survived by her two sisters, Jennifer Griffith and Carol Paggen, her two sons, Steve Shank and his wife, Susan, and Scott Shank and his wife, Kelly. She was a loving grandmother to Travis, Taylor, Corinne, and Carly, and a proud great-grandmother to Sadie.
Anne’s legacy is one of love, strength, and family. Her presence will be deeply missed, but the memories she created will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
The Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, March 31, in the Chapel of Earthman Resthaven, located at 13102 North Freeway, Houston, TX 77060. A visitation will begin at 11:00 am, and the funeral will begin at 12:00 pm. The interment service will occur at 2:00 pm at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale, Houston, TX 77023.
In honor of Anne, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Wounded Warriors in her memory
