Ann was born to Roy Penn Blackburn and Visa Rubena Magruder, March 20, 1923, in Shelbina, Missouri. She graduated from Shelbina High School in 1941 and received a degree from the Quincy Business College in 1944. She married James (Jim) Ray Foreman on January 31, 1948, in Kansas City, Missouri, and started a family. They eventually made it to Houston, Texas where they lived together until Jim’s passing in 1965. Ann lived in Houston for the rest of her life, widowed, and raised their five children who all remain in Houston.
Mema, as she was called by her grandchildren and great- grandchildren, is survived by: Suzanne Schleicher (Hart); Sara Jennings; Kim Franks (Ira); Jim Foreman (Michele);Dan Foreman (Mike Svat); grandchildren: Ryan Schleicher (Anna) and their four children; Sara Schleicher; Laura Turner (John) and their two children; Webb Jennings (Christy) and their two children; Beau Kaleel (Kate) and their two children; Brooke Horlen (Dustin) and their two children; Callie Gaines (Andy) and their two children; Michael Foreman (Ashley); Will Foreman; Chase Foreman (Gokselin) and their child; Clark Foreman; and Carly Foreman. She also leaves to cherish her memory, nieces: Nancy Carden and Sally Gilsdorf; nephews: Bart Smith and Tim Smith.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Foreman; brother, Jack Blackburn; sister, Katy Smith; and son-in-law, John Jennings.
Ann worked as a facilities coordinator at the University of Houston for 23 years. She enjoyed reading, working the daily crossword puzzle, traveling, and, most of all, spending quality time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many friends.
Ann, in a subtle, yet meaningful manner, was the matriarch of the Foreman family until her passing. This was always displayed through her grace, kindness, and soft manner. She will be remembered by her family as always living her life as a strong Christian, which was most obvious in her undying love and affection for all people. We give thanks to God for our Mema, the best mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother we could have wished for.
A Celebration of Life and Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, November 4, 2022, at 10 a.m. at St. Michaels Catholic Church, 1801 Sage Rd., Houston, Texas. Immediately following the ceremony, a reception will be held in the Family Life Center.
