Ann (Annie) West, age 90, of Pasadena, TX entered heavens gates on Wednesday, May 27, 2015. Born August 22,1924, in Huntington, West Virginia, she was the daughter of Walter Henry and Coletta Julia Caverly. On October 21, 1944 she was married to George West and together they celebrated their 69th anniversary before his passing last May. A consummate mother and homemaker, she raised their five children, moving from state to state (West Virginia, California, Kansas, Ohio, Alaska) finally settling in Houston, Texas in 1964. Annie and George became parishioners at St. Frances Cabrini, where they met many lifelong friends. Annie was a familiar face at the St.Frances Cabrini Women's Club, Frey Garden Club,a helping hand with money counting after mass, cleaning the church on Thursday mornings and preparing food for the bereavement committee at St. Frances Cabrini Church. She enjoyed gardening, fashion and HGTV but more than anything else, being around those she loved. Without fail, each year you could count on opening Annie's birthday card to find confetti falling to your feet. When there was an event to celebrate, she and George were there, near or far. Her energizing, enthusiastic, young loving spirit always made her the life of the party. You could usually find her on the dance floor, arms in the air, surrounded by family and friends. She taught us to live in the moment, to love life, and to never let life stop you from celebrating and making memories with those you love. She will forever remain dancing in our hearts and her spirit lives on in each memory she helped us create. Annie was met at the gates of heaven by her husband George West, her parents, Walter and Coletta Caverly and her younger brothers Bill and Walter (Jack) Caverly. She is survived her five children, Jane West, Greg (Lyn) West, Steve (Jan) West, Mike (Marcia) West and Kathi (Rick) Smith; her older brother Robert Caverly; her only sister, Dorothy Warne and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, 10727 Hartsook St., Houston, Texas 77034 on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 form 8:30 AM until the Funeral Mass at 9:30 AM. A reception in the Parish Hall will follow immediately after the funeral mass. The rite of committal will be at 1:30 PM at Earthman Resthaven Cemetary, 13102 North Freeway, Houston, Texas.
