Ann grew up in Abilene, Texas, but attended Bossier High School in Bossier City, Louisiana where she was very active and a Majorette in the award winning traveling band. After graduation she moved to Abilene, Texas and attended Abilene Christian College. Following graduation from ACC she became Manager and part owner of Arthur’s Cafeteria located on North 6th Street in Abilene.
Ann Iannuzzi met her future husband, Lou Iannuzzi, while he was stationed at Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene, Texas. Lou Iannuzzi obtained a transfer to Wheeler Air Force Base in Hawaii. Ann went with him, and they were married August 7th, 1971 at the Base chapel. The couple lived on the North Shore of Hawaii, at Wailua for two years, and life was great. The couple planned to spend their life in Hawaii, but Wheeler Air Force Base was closed, and with 7 months left of Lou’s service, they were transferred to Kelley Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas in August of 1973.
After leaving the Service, the couple moved to Houston, Texas in September of 1973, and became very active with the Houston Rodeo. Ann was Vice Chair of the Ladies Go Texan Committee for 3 years and supervised 200 Ladies in various Rodeo work.
Ann and Lou attended Memorial Church of Christ. Ann was very active in the Church and taught a Bible School Class for young children for many years. Ann and Lou were in charge of the Family Center where they coordinated various food and social events for the Church.
The Iannuzzi’s loved all their dogs over the years. Their last dog was a Victorian King Charles that died in July 2018 at the age of eleven.
Ann Iannuzzi passed December 21st, 2018, last week when her heart gave out due to kidney problems. She will be missed by many people, especially by her loving husband Lou.
