Ann was born on May 26, 1933 in Baltimore, Maryland to Thelma and James F. Rabbitt. She grew up in Boston, MA until moving to Houston, Texas in 1955. Ann took pride in the number and variety of jobs she held during her lifetime. From making de-icers for B-29’s, to switchboard operator, to bookkeeper, to managing restaurants in the 1960’s where she interacted with the movers and shakers of early Houston. Later in her career, Ann was the office manager for several Allstate Insurance offices. Ann was very active in the American Business Women’s Association (ABWA) where she served as President in 1982 and 1985. Ann loved animals, gardening, interior design, reading and politics. In retirement, Ann was an avid card player and made close friendships playing at the Bear Creek Community Center.
She is survived by her daughter, Leslie Eggert and husband Joe, her grandson, Mark Eggert and his wife Andrea, her grandson, Steven Eggert, her niece, Tiffany Brownlee and her niece, Kathy Byerly and her husband Richard. She was preceded in death by her mother, Thelma, her father, James, her sister, Jane Belisch, and brothers Milford Decker and James F. Rabbitt, Jr.
The service will be held at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77079 at the Texas Liberty Chapel on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 10 o’clock in the morning.
