Anita Vela

Anita Jannette Marler Vela, 73, born to Burnis and Katie Marler, in Sulfur, Oklahoma, passed away September 28, 2014. Anita graduated from Northwest Classen, Oklahoma, and married Carlos Vela July 1, 1967 in Montgomery County. She made a living working for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company as an operator, service representative, service order writer supervisor, and later retired in 1991. Anita was very talented; she could make anything and was very handy with crafts. She belonged to the Pioneers and was Council President. Anita is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Sue Frederick; and loving husband, Carlos Vela. Left to cherish her precious memories is: sons, Bradley A. Vela, Sr. (Sonia), Carlos R. Vela, Jr. (Chuck); grandkids: Brad Jr., Kelli Bri-Ann Vela, and Haley Vela; great-grandchild Adelynn Grace Vela-Martinez; sisters: Ann Maier Sugg, Cassie Hardin (Ron) Frankie Coggin, Wanda Kannarr (Bob), along with numerous nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed.
