Anita B. Gatewood

She was born in Haleyville, Alabama and was a very loving wife, mother, and friend. Anita was exceptionally outgoing, outspoken, had a huge heart, and was a very loyal friend who never met a stranger.

Anita is preceded in death by her father, Robert Martin; mother, Estelle McLean;

son, Walter Ricky Lambert; step son, Walter M. Tarpley III; & grandson, Joshua Roth Shackleford

Anita, aka Mother, Nina, Nitter, is survived by her husband, James “Jim” Edward Gatewood; son, Robert Alan Lambert & wife Anna Marie; step son, James “Jimmy” Edward Gatewood, Jr.; step daughter, Shelley Lynn Shackleford; father and mother-in law, Kenneth Edward Gatewood & Ollie Mae Gatewood; grandchildren: Jake R. Tipton & wife Jamie Michelle, Autumn Nicole Lambert, Alaina Hanna-Lambert, Alex Alan Lambert, and Aaron Alan Lambert; step grandchildren: Summer Layne Shackleford, Kenneth “Kenny” James Edward Gatewood, and Austin James Thomas Gatewood; great grandchildren: Kloie Elizabeth Tipton, Jaelynn Faith Williams, Charles “Charlie” Alan Hanna; step nephews: Greg Tapp and Shawn Tapp; and a host of other relatives, her vape family, along with a multitude of friends from every coast.

Visitation will be held 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, March 3, 2019. Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home, 13102 North Freeway, Houston, Texas 77060. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 4, 2019 in the chapel of Earthman Resthaven. Interment will follow at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery.
