Dearest Abraham as we all new you many many years ago, you was once married to my sister Billie Mayberry Hamilton  and during that time I had many happy memories as  I came to know you and your relatives and friends.  It was so much fun learning about the traditions of Nigeria from you and your family.  During your marriage to my sister y’all had my beautiful niece Anastasia  “ A fine master piece I’m sure you would agree.”   I join my niece in mourning your transition from this world into Heaven but I will also join her in the memories of the good times among family and friends all those years ago.  Rest well in Heaven.

Ete-ebe mi (Father in-law), Hallelujah!!! Praise The Lord!!! We all had so much hope that you could make it seeing all positive signs and the great will power you exhibited. You had the will to survive and had so many reasons to live for. I can’t emphasize enough how much we prayed, if your baby (wife) could, she would have given you life, but nothing worked, absolutely NOTHING! We all prayed for a miracle, but not even the best specialists in the face of this earth could save you, No one could have saved you, except God Himself. 
For the past couple weeks I’ve been trying to unravel all these questions in my head about life. This was all part of God’s grand plan, or perhaps you were way too good for us and you went on to do bigger and better things in glory. 
Death is an inevitable part of life, a harsh reality that makes you question your own mortality.  It makes you question your own purpose in life. 
Eteebe mi Wherever you are, I know you are in a much better place, at the bosom of our LORD Jesus Christ looking down at your wife and kids. I know it will be you leading the way for them into the light.  Although you are no longer physically with us, you will forever remain in our hearts and your spirit will always be felt.  Thank you for coming into our lives and enriching all of us with your giving to the Lord. You were an amazing and a peculiar person that showed us all how to live life to the fullest and give back to others. 
I’ll miss your projected baritone voice, and your shout of HALLELUJAH, knowing this is what you loved doing as it is written in the book of Revelation 4:10-11
Joining the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and worship Him who lives forever and ever, and cast your crowns before the throne, saying:”

When I heard my Uncle had gone to be with His Father in Heaven on that faithful day;  I was shocked because I did not hear of his being sick!
Job 1:21 says; The Lord gave and The Lord had taken away. Blessed be The name of The Lord.
Pastor Utin was truly; incredibly a passionate man, who cares for others more than himself.  If it means. traveling outside the state; fast and prayed for someone; he will be there! If it means visiting someone in the hospital or individuals at home to pray;  he was always there! He was dedicated to his family and others. Even in death, his memory will forever lives with us! Good bye my dear Uncle until we meet again!

A tribute to my Eteeka Kiet who was an outstanding father, uncle, brother among others. U were such a nice, caring, lovely, & spirit lifter, who encourages me whenever the needs arises.  I will ever live to remember u for ur good works & for who u were to me . May u continue to rest in the bosom of our father Abraham till we meet to part no more,Eteeka mmi.

Pastor and Uncle,

We received with shock your sudden demise. Although it hurts, we are grateful that you opened your doors to my family in 2014 even before we met. Your prayers and words of encouragement, even when things weren’t going according to plan, saw us through some of life’s worst moments.

Thank God for your life and the legacy you have left behind. We will continue to cherish those moments we fellowshipped together. One of those moments was thanksgiving 2020, which coincidentally, was the last we saw you. 

Thank you again and we pray that you find rest in the bosom of our Lord after your blissful sojourn here in the earth.

Tribute to A True Friend:

 I received the news of your demise with a great shock. It was very hard for me to believe that you are gone forever, even when the news was true. You were a good man, a disciplinarian, a man of God, a teacher and preacher who taught so many and preached the true gospel of Christ. I learned a lot from you during the short time we were acquainted. You used to call me “Young Man” and I called you “Etubom”. There has never been a dull moment every time I visited you; you were always excited. You were a man of valor, a gallant soldier of God who stood firm at your duty post till the day you passed on. You were a father, a friend, a teacher, a mentor, a counselor whom God used in a diverse way to educate his people, build his church, edify and also lead the flock of God in the path of righteousness. 

Losing you, an esteemed, prestigious, and glowing light is painful. I will miss you, but I will forever remember you in my heart. You were a good and simple man that can never be forgotten. My only consolation is that you served the Lord diligently and you have completed your task on earth, hence, you return home as recorded in Luke 1:23. I will take solace in the Lord, knowing that I will one day return home at the completion of my work here on earth and I will meet with you again to part no more. There, we will enjoy everlastingly and feast with our Lord Jesus Christ. And there, neither sickness nor death will have power over us or separate us anymore; we will all dwell and reign with our Lord Jesus Christ eternally, Hallelujah! 

My prayer for your family is that the God of all comforts will always be there to comfort and give them the grace to bear the irreplaceable loss. Etubom, I miss you! Asiere o…we shall meet to part no more.

To Uncle Utin

Thank you for the great times and love you showed to us and your family. It was a very tragic day to see you go, and I hope that you find peace and happiness in the holy kingdom of heaven. I wish I had gotten to know you more before you passed. But the wisdom you have given to this family is something that will never leave us. Your teachings, your wise words will always be something that we will apply to our daily lives. To us, you were a teacher, a father, and a mentor.

The number of times you sacrificed for others and showed kindness will be something that I will never forget. Even though your passing was very painful we will continue to remember the great times you spent with us, and I hope you will have more great times in heaven.

Hey Uncle, 

It’s Hannah, your favorite Niece!!! I don’t think we got to say goodbye to each other, and life has shown us a hurtful side by taking you from us even when we didn’t see it coming. I want to tell you that I love you and my heart holds a special place for you. I think the saddest part about losing you is not being able to see you every time I come over. Seeing you was my favorite part of my day and I don’t think I’ll ever be okay without your presence in our family. You completed us, gave us purpose, and always pushed us to be the best we could be. Uncle you will be missed, your laugh, your smile, your kind words, and even your jokes. I don’t know if things will ever be the same without you, and I want you to know that you have left your mark on all of us. 

Thank you, Uncle, for everything, for taking Jenny, Crystal, and I to the mall, for paying for our nails on the first day of school, for picking us up when we missed the bus, for always buying us doughnuts for breakfast, and most importantly for loving us even when we were disobedient. It hurts that we will never be able to hug and laugh together, but we are all going to stay strong for you!! Of all the many blessings, big or small, to have you as an uncle was the greatest blessings of them all. The family chain is broken now and nothing seems the same, but when the time comes we will all be reunited. Till we meet again Uncle 🤞🏾

Thank you for choosing to be a part of our lives and thank you for being my uncle. I have nothing but fond and happy memories with you and our family. You were the coolest uncle I could ever ask for. Thank you for being present for us, for dancing along with us, clapping and singing along with us. Thank you for being there. For this, I’m forever grateful. These are memories I will cherish forever and ever. I will miss you for your strength and assertiveness, something I always admired you for. No matter what you will always and forever be a significant figure within our family dynamic. We all feel your absence. I know nothing will ever be the same anymore. Despite that, I feel better knowing that you are somewhere where you will no longer have to worry about anything else ever again. No more frustration, no pain, no more strife, just peace. Enjoy! It’s hard saying goodbye for the last time but God has called you to be amongst him in heaven. I want to thank you for taking me and my brother in as one of your own when we needed it. Whether it was when my parents had to work night shifts or if all the kids just wanted to hang out together you stepped in and took care of us. You upheld the same values as my parents making sure we didn’t sag our pants or use curse words and made sure you took us to church when we were with you. I’m thankful because those values stuck with me and kept me out of trouble. You are loved and dearly missed. May your soul rest in perfect peace.

To my dear Uncle,

It is always weird when a loved one has to go home but it’s something I’ve come to understand as I grew older. I will never forget you taking in me and my brother and essentially helping to raise us. We were wild, I know. Josh had his head stuck in a staircase, I pee’d the bed, we would wrestle in the house (under the supervision of someone I will not name [Edidiong] to protect their identity) we were not easy, but out of the love you had in your heart, you decided to help out my mom and dad, and I am forever indebted.

I remember I came to visit when I was in town a couple of months after my father was sent away to Nigeria. I had a long talk with you that I will never forget. Saying you were proud of me and to keep going forward. That was the first time I saw you with tears in your eyes. I’m thinking at that moment you saw a part of my father in me, and you were happy with the man I was becoming.

You will be deeply missed and I hope you and my father are having a good ol’ Ikot Nte reunion up there.

We never thought we would see another person in our life head upstairs to see the lord, but God needed another angel along his right side. We now know that even though you're gone, you are still here with us, in the leaves of the trees that you have touched, in the fruits that bloom in full swing in the season.
