A gracious woman full of kindness and love, Angelyn loved her family and her life. She was born in Moulton, Texas on the 3rd of August 1920, the first child of Fred and Bessie Krause. She graduated from Shiner High School where she played Outside Point Guard on the girls’ basketball team. She later attended St. Joseph Nursing School. She married Army Lieutenant Weldon Alfred Schramm on the 21st of September 1943. A great woman of Lutheran faith, she and her family devoutly attended Grace Lutheran Church. Throughout her married life she hand-made many quilts, providing a lifetime of memory for each member of her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Calvin Fred Krause and his wife Mozelle; and her second child, Roger Weldon Schramm, and is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Weldon; daughter, Sandra Lynn Thomas and her husband John; daughter-in-law, Eleanor Barry Schramm and son, Howard Krause Schramm and his wife Ann. In addition, surviving “Mimi,” are six grandchildren: Melanie Ann Maiona and her husband Marc, Phil Ray Magee IV and his wife Susan, William Roger Schramm, Robert Weldon Schramm, Caroline Kingswell Schramm, Elizabeth Holland Schramm; and four great-grandchildren, Claire Angelyn Maiona, William Taylor Maiona, Grace Anne Magee and Emma Rae Magee.
The family is to gather for a private interment at Shiner Cemetery in Shiner, Texas, where the Rev. Lura N. Groen, Pastor of Grace Lutheran Church in Houston, is to officiate.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions in Angelyn’s name be directed to Grace Lutheran Church, 2515 Waugh Drive, Houston, TX, 77006; or to New Century Hospice, One Sugar Creek Center Boulevard, Suite 330, Sugar Land, TX, 77478.
