The golden voice of Angelo Prioli has been silenced while being surrounded by his family members. Angelo was a graduate of the Conservatorio Statale Di Musica G. Rossini Pesaro, Italy. He had an outstanding career and spent many years at La Scala Opera in Milan, Italy. He travelled to the United States in the 1950s with La Scala orchestra and performed many concerts throughout the U.S. He remained in the U.S. performing in Carnegie Hall and became a winner on the Arthur Godfrey Talent Show. Subsequently, he received recording contracts with CBS records and some recordings even went platinum in Australia. Along with his operatic performances, he was also in several movies, most notable in the U.S. is Miracle in Milano.
Angelo was predeceased by his parents and four siblings. He is survived by his devoted wife, Geraldine Navarro Prioli, his son, Gregory Adam Prioli, his daughter-in-law, Laura DeVincentis Prioli, and grandson, Nicholas Valentino Prioli. His family and his music were his life. He lived a full and rewarding life filled with great achievements and always surrounded by wonderful family and friends.
The casket escort will be his grandson, Nicholas. The pallbearers will be Paul DeVincentis, Giuseppe Maniscalco, Carey Mason, Dr. Marc Robert, Dan Silvestri, and Emidio Silvestri. Honorary pallbearers will be Dan Clayton and Jay Thompson.
Visitation will be on Sunday, March 22, 2015 from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm with a Rosary at 5:00 pm in The Hunters Creek Chapel at Earthman Funeral Directors, 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77024. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, March 23, 2015 at 10:00 am at St. Michael Catholic Church, 1801 Sage Road, Houston, Texas 77056 with interment to follow in The Garden of Gethsemani at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
