Angeline R. Vera

Angeline was born to Pablo Portillo Ruiz and Beatrice R Ruiz-Rodriguez October 13, 1942, in Cuero, Texas. She graduated from St. Agnes Academy in 1960.

She is survived by one sister Mary Lou Williams and 3 daughters, Sandra Gonzales and spouse Rocky Gonzales, Diane Reyna and spouse Michael Reyna, Jennifer Vera and stepson Porfirio Vera Jr. and spouse Mary Vera. She has 9 grandchildren: Melissa Chapa, Matthew Gonzales, Erica Reyna Young and spouse Robert Young, Jacob Reyna, Joe Anthony Vera and spouse Dyanna Vera, Vanessa Vera, Michael Shawn Galardi, Erik Vera and Michael Vera. She has 4 great grandchildren, Michael Vera, Jr., Josephine Young, Liam Young, Luna Azul Vera. She also leaves to cherish her memory a niece, Jamie Cantu and nephew, Jathan Cantu.

She was preceded in death by her father, Pablo Portillo Ruiz, mother Beatrice Ruiz Rodriguez, stepfather Ralph G. Rodriguez, former spouse, Porfirio S. Vera and stepbrother Juan Pablo Gutierrez.

Angeline worked as an Executive Assistant to the Director of Houston Small Business Development Corporation in Palm Center for 21 years. She enjoyed coloring, sewing, gardening, going to the game room, casinos, cooking for everyone, watching her Houston Astros and spending time with family. She was a parishioner of St. Helens Catholic Church in Pearland, TX.

A Memorial Service is scheduled for July 9, 2022, at Forest Park Lawndale – Chapel of Angels. A reception will follow at the funeral home reception hall. Deacon Bob Leicht will officiate the ceremony. The family would also like to thank everyone for all the prayers and condolences received.
