Angela Amparo Arias was born on July 27, 1941 in Camaguey, Cuba. Her parents were Ceferino Arias and Maria Luisa Perez. She was the second oldest child with an older brother, Adrian, and younger siblings, Gloria Elena and Regino Ceferino. On April 22, 1962 she married Nelson Carmenates and together they had three children - Maria Elena, Nelson Leonel and Janet. They immigrated to the United States from Cuba on March 21, 1969. They lived in California for two years before settling in Houston, Texas in March 1972. They have eight grandchildren - Lisa Marie (24), Rene' James (23), Lori Ellen (21), Ian (8), Leann Marie (7), Olivia Grace (5), Matthew (4) and Hector Nicholas (3). Mom enjoyed singing, reading, laughing, traveling, going to church and spending time with family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, and friend. She will live forever in our hearts and memories.
