Angela Dell Allen

Angela was born Angela Dell Lawson on February 1, 1960. She was the 6th of 10 children birthed through the union of the late Johnny Essie & Irene Heneretta Lawson. She was raised in Houston, Texas with her siblings: Sammie Smith (James, deceased), Johnny Lawson, deceased, Peggy Washington (Jesse deceased), Melvin Lawson deceased, Carrie Greggs (Willie), James Lawson deceased (Mary), Arthur Lawson (Ella), Annie Lawson deceased, and Richard Lawson deceased (Monique deceased).

Angela attended Kashmere Gardens High School. While walking in her neighborhood to a corner store she was noticed by a young man, Charles Ray Allen, Sr. Charles was instantly smitten and knew he "had to have her." Angela and Charles were an inseparable duo. Charles and Angela's union spanned 47 years. They welcomed eight (8) children: Loretta Lawson (Victor), Angela Jones (Philip) "Cedric", Charles Allen Jr. (lesha), Robert Allen (Monique), Marvin Allen, Lakela Allen, Brooke Allen, and Mitchel Allen. She has 17 grandchildren of which one, Cameron Allen, proceeded her in death and one great-grandson, T.J.

Angela enjoyed cooking and was known for her potato salad. On any given day you would find Angela spending quality time with family and friends, shopping at her favorite stores, and cutting loose on the dance floor to the tune of Zydeco! Diamonds and pearls were her favorite jewelry pieces.

With her endearing love for family, Angela helped to organize several family reunions and made strong efforts to keep that tradition going! She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchild, sisters, brother, in-laws, aunts, nieces, nephews, uncles cousins, extended family, and a host of friends. Angela Dell Allen will be missed dearly.
