Ana Teresa Cuervo, age 88, resident of Cypress, TX, passed away on May 23,, 2021 at HCA, North Cypress Hospital, after a month’s long stay due to complications from COVID. Ms. Cuervo was born on September 20, 1932 to Emelina Lopez and Enrique Cuervo in Havana, Cuba. In the year 1950, she married Abdiel Fuentes, a dental surgeon and they had two children, a boy and a girl. After her husband died in the year 1980, she later came to the U.S. to be with her family. She worked as a cashier and later a medical biller at a clinic for 28 years.
Ana Teresa Cuervo had a two year college education from Cuba where she was born. However, she later chose to be a stay home mother to her two children. She was involved in church and became a very independent woman after the passing of her husband and arriving in the U.S. She loved working, shopping on the weekends, going to get her hair and nails done and especially driving over to her family’s home to visit her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her surviving family members include her daughter, Marietta Sanchez and her husband Angel Sanchez, her son Abdiel Fuentes and his wife Blanca, her granddaughter Betty Brown, grandson Angel Sanchez and his wife Erica Sanchez and her great-grandchildren Collin Brown, Christi Brown, Kirk Sanchez, Maverick Sanchez, Parker Sanchez, Truman Sanchez and Abdiel Fuentes. All of whom love and miss her very much.
