Amy Virginia Vestal – Tate, 85, of Houston went to be with the Lord on September 5, 2014. She was born on April 22, 1929in Jackson, Georgia. She was married for 16 years to Kenneth Tate and enjoyed Gospel and Country music. Most importantly she loved her family and her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her first husband, B.A. "Sonny" Vestal, her parents Lucy and Walter Dewey Haynes,sons; Billy A. Vestal Sr. and David Vestal, grandson Thomas Vestal and her brothers; Barney, Thomas, Walter Elwood and Byron Douglas Haynes. She is survived by her husband Kenneth Tate, daughter-in-law Suzie Vestal of Rye, niece Nancy Wylie, sisters; Norma J. Wilson, Imogene and Bill Crider, Carol and Larry Branch and sister-in-law Mili Haynes, grandchildren; Wendy Leann Moelman and husband Chris of Goodrich, Dennie Renee Hill of Humble, Veronica Renee Roth and husband Marlan of Rye, Mark Vestal and wife Susan of Livingston, William Vestal and wife Danae of Livingston and Billy Allen Vestal Jr. and wife Tammy of Coldspring, 17 great grandchildren, 13 great great grandchildren and a dear friend of 32 years Angelica Rodriguez. Also left behind are her extended family Barry Tate, Tammy Tate-Arnold and husband Kevin, Kenneth Allen Tate and wife Kay, and numerous other family members and friends. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 from 5-8 PM and a graveside service is scheduled for Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Wounded Warriors Project in her name.
