Alice Lee, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on October 17, 2023, in Houston, Texas. She was born on July 14, 1948, in Guangzhou, China. Alice was the cherished daughter of Hung Hin-Kam and Hung Fung Pik-Wan and beloved sister to Julie Wu (YeeMa).
Alice's life was a testament to love, family, and resilience. She touched the hearts of many with her warmth, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family. She leaves behind a legacy that will endure for generations to come.
Alice and Yiu Chee were married on January 24, 1973, in Hong Kong. Together, they built a life filled with love, understanding, and shared dreams that was an inspiration to all who knew them.
Alice is survived by her loving children: Amy (husband Brodie), Jason (wife Connie), and Jeni (husband Danny). She was a proud grandmother to her grandchildren, Lauren, Gavin, Lucy, and Jordan, who brought immense joy and happiness into her life.
The family owned and operated Alice's Diner in Houston for decades, serving their community with delicious food and a welcoming atmosphere. Their establishment became a beloved gathering place for locals, reflecting Alice's caring and hospitable nature.
She was an active member of the Houston Chinese Church, where her faith and her friendships flourished. She enjoyed church outings and trips abroad with her friends, creating lasting memories and strengthening her bond with the community she held dear.
Alice’s warm smile, gentle spirit, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and the wider community she touched through her restaurant and church involvement. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Visitation with the family will be held on October 27 from 5-8pm and a funeral service on October 28 at 11am at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home and Cemetery at 6900 Lawndale St., Houston, TX 77023. A graveside service will be held immediately after the funeral for immediate family only.
