Alford Lewis Phillips life journey began May 27,1953 in Amarillo, TX to Charles and Ernestine Phillips. After his family moved to Houston, Alford accepted Christ and became an active member of Fontaine First Baptist Church with Pastor John Henry Brown and was active in the choir and male chorus.
He attended and graduated from Kashmere High School, after graduated he enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served his country for 4 years. After returning home he began his career working as a maintenance man for various companies until he found a home with the City of Houston in March of 1999 as a Maintenance Technician, where he retired in May of 2018.
He leaves to cherish his memories, His wife of 40yrs Sharon Phillips, son - Allen Phillips (Lysa), daughter – Andrea Phillips, Mother in Love Rosie Stafford, Sister in Law Charlotte Whaley (James Sr.), Brother in Law-Charles Stafford (Lisa), and Brother in Law-Cedric Stafford. God Children - Dell Adams (Twana), Jerrel Jackson, Terrel Jackson, Crystal Sherman and (Pop Pop Babies) Camryn and Camille Sherman. Also, his Cherished friends James Castille, Damon Slator, Jerry Singleton, Romell Thomas and Mr. Wilson. Alford was proceeded in death by his parents: Charles and Ernestine Phillips, Brothers: Charles Phillips and L Gene Hooper, and his Sister and Brother in Law: Shirley and Bernard Cramer. He leaves to mourn Sister - Rosa Hooper and Brother - Mark Hooper and a host of Nieces and Nephews and Friends.
