Aleyamma Mathai was born to Mathai and Sosamma on October 13, 1930, at Pallathu Puthen Veedu in Adoor, Kerala, India. She was the oldest of seven children. She was a member of the St. Mary’s Orthodox Church, Karuvatta, Adoor. She was married to the late John Mathai at the age of sixteen.
Our Ammachi was a very loving, caring, and God-fearing woman. She was extremely generous and had a tender heart. She led a very prayerful life and was steadfast in her faith. She began and ended each day with prayer. She prayed for all her family, neighbors, and friends by name. Even in her last days, her faith in God sustained her and her prayers empowered her.
Our Ammachi always kept it real. She was honest, straight-forward, and very witty. Ammachi shared her wisdom with her family to guide them with good Christian values. She has gone to be with our Lord and we know she is enjoying her eternal reward. Her loving memory will live on in the hearts of everyone that knew her, especially her family & friends.
She was blessed with 9 children and their spouses, 21 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.
With tearful eyes we watched her pass away.
Although we loved her so dearly, we could not make her stay.
A golden heart stopped beating; now, hardworking hands are at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us he only takes the best.
Our Ammachi definitely instilled in all of us her strength to carry on in her absence.
We Love You Dearly Ammachi & You Will Be Missed
