Alex...I still can’t believe you are gone. Your presence will be missed by so many.  No matter how much YOU  were going through, you always managed a kind word and a smile for others. I will miss your quirky messages and sense of humor, your uplifting words when others were down, and your hundreds of  medical questions because you thought I knew everything. (even though I told you a million times I was just an Ob-Gyn nurse).  You fought for your health like no one I have ever known. I know you weren’t ready to leave Jacque and your precious sons, but it was time.  You had been through so much, it was time for you to finally be at  peace, to be pain free and to be healed. You know your family and friends will see that they are taken care of.  Your memories and legacy will live on through them forever. Not everyone is lucky enough have someone like you cross  their path in life and then remain a lifelong friend. You were a true friend to me Alex and I am blessed to have known you.  It’s not good-bye, but a “see ya later.”  Go Astros. 💔

Alex RIP you will be missed. I haven't seen you in years, but I kept up with you on FB, you loved life, you loved your family so much. I remember when you were born I saw you grow up. You always had a great sense of humor making us laugh you even played santa Claus at Grandma Mary's house. You were loved by everyone. I loved that you always called me Tia...no more pain now you can rest in peace.  Love always your Tia Bebe ❤

Mr. Alex or as me and John always called him Pops, was like a second father to me. The Castillos home was like My Home away from home and I was always welcome. As I entered there house I would always enter with a smile every time I saw Mr.Alex and he’d greet me with the “Look its Oyyving”. My connection with the family started at a young age with me meeting John in Pre-K and the bond began from there, I became apart of the family. Mr.Alex treated me as if I were one of his own, We’d go to baseball games, out to eat, drove to countless baseball tournaments together with me and his son John or I’d just simply spend the weekend at there house, have fun together and rack up numerous unforgettable moments. I can go on forever about the memories we all had together but I’m happy to have met Mr.Alex and John at a young age because at that time I met my best friend and brother John and my second Pops in Mr.Alex and he will be deeply missed by my family and I as he impacted everyone he was around with his energy and fun vibes. I love you Pops, Fly High.

Alex and I went to Scarborough together and reunited on Facebook, we shared many daily tasks on the phone keeping in touch and sharing what was going on with all the other alumni's; that is a nice way of saying gossiping, LOL. I will miss our gossip sessions! Rest in Peace Alex...

Cyndi Briggs Gutowski

Alex was such a sweet and funny friend.  His boys and his friends meant everything to him.  I still remember him as one of the guys gathered by tennis courts at Scarborough watching us (Sundowners) practice.  We chatted almost every day of his last months. I’ll never forget our conversation the morning of his surgery. Instead of worrying about himself he was worried about my Jonny.  Love and miss you always sweet friend.

Alex was always one of my best friends at Metro National, and we had fun together. Alex was a smart, hard-working and devoted man who I met while  working in the Memorial City area. His humor lit up the days, and our time together after work playing recreational sports was a highlight as Alex always shared his jokes.

Alex is a gem among my friends who still lights the way for our journey forward. He always looked out for others and believed in people. He was committed to his family, and they  fully supported Alex. The Castillo family is highly admired and respected. 

Today Alex’s spirit is set free to soar in Heaven, and he will also provide love and protection for Jackie and the kids. Knowing Alex now moves freely and in full health above us inspires. Thank you for sharing your blessings, Alex.
