Born in 1951 in Belgium, Albert spent his childhood years in Africa, Belgium, and Corpus Christi, Texas, where he played football as the star kicker for the Gregory-Portland Wildcats. He later returned to Europe where he met the love of his life, Brigitte. They were married in her French hometown in 1972 and later moved to Baytown, Texas in 1979.
He worked at Chevron Phillips Chemical Company – Cedar Bayou Plant for 33 years before retiring to pursue his second career as an amazing grandfather. He enjoyed his free time traveling, golfing, fishing, and barbecuing for his family. He will always be remembered for his commanding presence, infectious laugh, quick humor, and his generosity.
He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Brigitte; daughters Celine Wilson and Alice Freed; grandchildren Austin Freed and Rhys Wilson; his extended Bellengier family in France, and many lifelong friends.
A private graveside ceremony will be held at Brookside Funeral Home in Houston, Texas.
