Aunt LaLa entered eternal rest on August 27, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband Lee “Buster” Wagner, her parents Jose & Isabel Lozano (Noyola), Step-Father Narcisso Noyola, beloved daughter Billie Marie Neal & brother Abel Lozano & wife Hope.
Aunt LaLa was born on December 23, 1923 in Harlingen, Texas. She left Harlingen for Houston in the early 60’s where she resided the rest of her life. She enjoyed a long career in retail; she worked for Gordon’s Jewelers & retired to enjoy her golden years with Buster & Billie Marie, family & friends. She was quite the character & marched to her own music. Strong willed, determined & loyal to those she loved best described her character.
Aunt LaLa enjoyed visiting “Hair Care” on Louetta for her beauty sessions with “Sally” as she called her; many thanks for the care & pampering they put into those sessions. Special thanks to longtime physician & friend; Dr. Donald & Elaine Young & staff. As Aunt LaLa always said he was “one of a kind”. Thanks also to Attorney Phyllis Oeser who always took the time to see her without an appointment. Anyone who knew Aunt LaLa knew she did not stand on ceremony when she decided to make a visit “there & then”. Thanks to all her neighbors on Hill Oak & Spring Villa for their prayers & loving support.
Much affection & thanks to those she leaves to mourn her & cherish her memory “Her Kids” as she called them; Mikey Duran, Carleigh Rice, Dana Marie Duran (who reminded her of her precious Billie Marie), Karla & Eric Rutland; children Midi, Nick, Nattie, Caitlyn & Ashton, “Bill’s Kids”; Patsy (Chrisanthos), Harry & Michelle, Richard (Barbara), Alex & Jake, Billy Poulos, Jr. & family. Thanks to Janet Poulos (Dario Orona) for the selfless assistance they gave Hilda with “Aunt Lala”.
Aunt LaLa leaves her beloved Hildegarde Poulos – Duran or “Hilda Bell” (as she referred to her) & Ernie Duran with much gratitude for all the years of caring and loving her when no one else would or could.
In accordance with Aunt LaLa’s wishes no public services will be held.
“I Did It My Way” her favorite song & very much the way she lived her life; rest in peace Dear Lady & God Bless.
