Ada Maxine Felder, age 81, of Houston passed away in the early morning hours of June 13, 2010. Maxine was born in the small East Texas Community of Alto, Texas where she met her childhood sweetheart and husband of 59 years, Joe Kenneth Felder. She graduated from Sam Houston University with a Masters degree in English in 1951 and immediately went to work as a teacher for the Spring Branch Independent School District. She loved being around children and retired from Spring Branch after 42 years of service. Maxine is survived by her sons: Billy Joe Felder and wife Michele of Sugar Land, John Marcus Felder and wife Kim of Houston; three grandchildren who she adored: Kimberly Jo Felder, Faith Elizabeth Ellis and William Joseph Felder.
Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston. A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 17, 2010 at Shiloh Cemetery, located near Alto, Texas.
