Abigail Kidd

Abigail Anne Laughlin Kidd, devoted wife of Walter L. Kidd and loving mother of five, went to Heaven to be with her Lord on February 12, 2014 in Houston, Texas. Gail was born on January 29, 1925 in Meridian, Mississippi to parents Abigail Olivia Jackson Laughlin and Frank Daniel Laughlin.

Gail was truly a gracious southern lady and had a wonderful life. She married Walter in Meridian, Mississippi on October 15th, 1950. They had five children and made homes in Los Angeles, California, Picayune, Mississippi, Rockledge, Florida and finally settled in Houston, Texas. She enjoyed fine music, art, literature and especially the beauty of God's natural world.

Gail is preceeded in death by her parents and sister, Margaret. She leaves behind her loving husband, Walter and five children: Priscilla Kidd Fisher and husband Barclay, Rachael Kidd Gray and husband Bobby, Walter Lee Kidd, Jr. and wife Margie, David Clayton Kidd and wife Deborah, Paul Jackson Kidd and wife Beth. She has one nephew, Jack Daniel and wife, Sherry. Her grandchildren are Lauren Rice Burris, Brian Rice, Melissa Rice Mueller, Kellen Gray, Lindley Gray, Ian Gray, Jennifer Guillot, Maggie Fritts, Jamie Kidd, Jessica Kidd, Matthew Kidd and Patrick Kidd. Great-grandchildren include Scott and Luke Burris, Theron Mueller, Nicole and Maria Etheridge, Johnny and Bailey Fritts, Jonah and Zoe Guillot. Great-nieces and nephew are Brandon, Amy, and Mia Daniels.

Family and friends will greatly miss Gail and their prayers will surely be heard and welcomed in Heaven. The family will receive friends and family at Forest Park Lawndale, 6900 Lawndale, Houston, Texas 77023 on Monday, February 17, 2014. Visitation will be at 1:00 pm followed by a service in the Main Chapel at 2:00 pm.
